About Palm Bay ARC

Origin

PBARC was formed from the remains of the Disaster Communication Service of Palm Bay. Originally, we were directly part of the Palm Bay Police Department and provided emergency communications for shelters occupied by police personnel during Brevard County EOC declared emergencies. Over time, it was decided to maintain our relationship with the Palm Bay PD, but to not operate out of Police Headquarters which would more easily allow us to expand our membership. With this in mind, the Palm Bay Amateur Radio Club was formed. The club has since grown and now operates two repeaters in Brevard County. Our VHF repeater is Fusion capable and in that mode can be linked to Wires-X. In this way, we are the only group to provide border to border coveerage of Brevard County. Please see our Repeaters Page for more info. PBARC’s Bylaws in PDF
